The Foresteria di Casa Winspeare is located in the south of Salento in the heart of Depressa, a small village of ancient origins and rich in testimonies of the past.
It is an ancient residence built by the Winspeare family in 1885 and subsequently expertly renovated by the current owner Edoardo Winspeare and his wife Maria Celeste Casciaro, respecting the original style, preserving the traditional star vaults and the classic furnishings with the elegant chandeliers and fine furniture made by 19th century cabinetmakers.
The Residence houses four elegant bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, large common areas and large windows overlooking the historic town square and an independent studio apartment on the ground floor. The center of the town is also home to the ancient fifteenth-century castle belonging to the Winspeare family who, starting from 1885, transformed it from a farmhouse into a noble residence.
The four rooms have a similar architectural structure, but their size and furnishings differ from each other, giving a distinctive and personal touch, always respecting the original spaces of the ancient residence. The Sant'Antonio studio apartment is designed for those who want more privacy and comforts at hand.
The structure also has air conditioning, underfloor heating and convector heaters.
Wi-Fi internet connection is also available, also ideal for smart working activities and for the winter periods.
STUDIO APARTMENT SANT'ANTONIO
The Sant'Antonio studio apartment located on the ground floor, is approximately 35 m2 in size and represents the ideal solution for those who want greater tranquility and privacy.
A welcoming refuge in line with the rural architectural style of Salento buildings, highlighted by the star vaults and the characteristic niches present which give authenticity and style to the environment.
The air-conditioned apartment has an independent entrance and consists of an elegant double bed, living room equipped with induction kitchenette and complete bathroom with shower and bathtub.

Furthermore, exclusively for guests of the Casa Winspeare Guest House, it is possible to visit and enjoy the splendid garden of Winspeare Castle, available at set times (specified later, in the "To Know" section). It represents the ideal place to walk or read a book outdoors, letting yourself be carried away by the scent and colors of the plants and flowers that embellish it.
The garden was created in English style by the first owners and their descendants and is full of plants, flowers, shrubs and fruit trees.
In the garden there are also other varieties of plants including almond trees, false pepper, agaves, centuries-old maritime pines, fruit trees and a California laurel.

Furthermore, just 4 km away, it is possible to reach the largest town of Tricase, full of further services but also of traditions, history, and interesting places to visit.
For those who love immersing themselves in naturalistic landscapes and walking in the greenery, there are numerous paths to follow in the surrounding areas, among the most evocative we suggest:
- the Path of the Enemy, an ancient road, used in distant times also for the smuggling of salt, which stands out between the dry stone walls up to the cliff and the sea caves that can be easily visited and can also be accessed from the mainland including the Matrona cave and the Monks' cave;
- the imposing and majestic Quercia Vallonea dei Cento Cavalieri, the oldest and largest of a group of centuries-old oaks located in a portion of land which, from the Serra del Mito, leads to Marina Serra.
Furthermore, about 7 km away it is possible to reach Marina Serra, with its crystal clear waters, high cliffs, wild landscapes, characteristic fjords and enchanting coves, such as the renowned and enchanting Natural Pool; and, about 8 km away, the characteristic port of Tricase with a small beach, restaurants, bars and seafront.
Finally, just a few minutes away by car, we suggest further interesting villages to visit, with characteristic historic centres, narrow streets and imposing churches and palaces: Diso (6.5 km), Castro (9.2 km), Specchia (9.3 km ) and Poggiardo (11.6 km).
