In the small Ligurian mountain village of Ligo (c. 340 m above sea level), a district of Villanova d´Albenga, you will find our c 350 year old rustico, restored in the old Ligurian style, only 20 minutes by car from the sea. It is part of a medieval group of houses just outside the village, with parking directly from the house. The entrances to the house are in a vaulted passage. Behind the right entrance there is a stone staircase that leads to a floor on which the bedroom with double bed (160 cm wide) and the two bedrooms with single beds (120 cm and 125 cm wide) are located, the fireplace room (with fold-out sofa bed), the sala with a dining table with seating for 6 - 8 people and the kitchen. From the rear single room there is a terrace with a small pizza house, from which a staircase leads down to the courtyard. From here it goes into the garden. The c. 25 m2 living room with two fold-out couches (1.40 wide) and a small table, a larger round table with seating, TV (German and Italian channels), DVD player, CD and radio. From here it goes to the second terrace with cold water shower. There is also a bathroom with a bathtub, which was renovated in March 2013.
The second bathroom with shower is behind the left entrance. Here is also the large, not yet developed cantina with the old olive press. From there it goes into the courtyard with a large stone table, seating and a fridge. There is also a small room with a single bed. From the inner courtyard it goes into the garden with a large palm tree and cypress. You can sunbathe in the deck chair - or lie in the shade - and read. In the garden you can also grill and sit together.
There is a bus stop in front of the house. There is a small bus that runs to Albenga twice a day.
A few meters further on Christmas 2012 an 'Agriturismo - i tre porcelini' opened with a restaurant and two rooms for rent. A family from the village has beautifully redesigned it from an old building and is now managing it. You can eat wonderful and very inexpensive Ligurian dishes and drink delicious wine.
From the village square in Ligo you can see the sea, on the way down there is a very good campsite with a grocery, restaurant and bar. There are life concerts twice a week - but you don't hear about them in Ligo! There is also a disco on all other evenings.
The surrounding area is ideal for hiking and cycling tours. The charming coastal towns of Laigueglia and Alassio, and Albenga with its historic old town are only 20 minutes away by car. Here you can swim, stroll, shop and much more.
